Rhythms of Rest: Finding God in All Things
"Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly." --Matthew 11:30

I've found something transformative in my own spiritual journey: a regular rhythm of rest that helps me connect with God in unexpected ways. For me, it means taking a weekly break from work, turning off electronics, and simply being present. This intentional pause helps me quiet the noise and really notice the small things around me, things I'd otherwise miss. Suddenly, the warmth of a mug in my hands becomes a tangible reminder of God's comforting love, or the steady roots of a tree speak of His unwavering presence grounding me. Even watching a storm gather reminds me of the Holy Spirit's movement in my life, and the sound of laughter from loved ones fills me with gratitude for God's blessings.
These aren't just isolated moments; they're doorways to seeing that God is actively at work in the world, and truly, everything is a gift from Him, a pathway to encountering His presence. This regular time of pausing has become my way of tuning into the ordinary places where God is inviting me to remember His love.
I wonder, what it might look like for you to take a similar pause and begin to see God in all things in your own life? Do you think creating space might bring you a deeper sense of God’s love for you?
Upcoming Events
Groups
I have several groups I am offering that will start in September. In particular, I want to highlight the Dovehouse Sampler Group with 3 spots still open.
The above group will meet over seven months and you’ll experience different approaches of connecting with God. You'll get to explore methods such as:
Entering the Gospel Scenes: Imagine yourself within the gospel scenes, encountering Jesus and the disciples in a new way.
Praying with Poetry: Discover how the evocative language of poetry can open your heart and mind to spiritual insights.
Praying with Art: Engage with visual art as a pathway to contemplation and a deeper connection with God.
Praying with Picture Books: Experience the simplicity and profound wisdom found in carefully selected children's literature as a unique form of prayer.
Silent Directed Retreats
In addition, I have 2 multi-day retreats in September and November that still have open spots.

"In Everything" by Paper Horses
I was introduced to the talented group Paper Horses by some dear friends who invited me to their concert. Their song, "In Everything," quickly became one of my favorites, beautifully echoing the Ignatian principle of "God in All Things."
I hope you'll take a moment to listen, and that its chorus—"In everything... I see You"—will resonate deeply within your spirit.
“In Everything” Song Lyrics
Feet on the grass, I’m listening
I see you now in everything
The fire, the stars, the blazing sun all say it’s true
When I see the light, I am seeing you
When I see the light, I am seeing you
A still small voice, your frequency
Resonates in the deepest part of me
The wind, the storm, the mourning dove all say it’s true
When I hear their song, I am hearing you
When I hear their song, I am hearing you
In everything, in everything, in everything
I see you
In everything, in еverything, in everything
I see you
